Its not guns, (well to a degree) it's not the tight pants, it's not anyone in particular. You know what it is? Ignorance/Hate. That is what kills it. They say hip hop brings people together, and it is so universal. But when you clown on someone for wearing something different? Because of their sexual orientation? WOW yeah, hip hop is so universal aint it?
Cut it out. Seriously. Why are people so ignorant when it comes to little things? We hate when people succeed, and do well. Like soulja boy for instance, Why can't you be happy for the guy? He is doing well for his age. For all of you 'underground indie' heads, guess what...you will NEVER be satisifed with hip hop, as long as it is on the radio. stations play what's 'hot' and what makes money. get that. To a degree i dont agree with it fully because there are alot of artists out there that are tight, but may not fit the mold. second, PEOPLE GOTTA EAT! Do you pay rent? Do you pay bills? or do you live with your parents/relatives? Money makes the world go round. So what i say is, if you don't like something, don't just bad mouth it. Do something positive about it. Write your local radio stations, or make music. Quote on Quote real hip hop, most of it will never air on radio stations, or be seen on most channels. You know that, I know that. So why are you saying hip hop is dead? Hip hop would be so called dead because the air is filled with ignorance and hatred. The music on the radio will mostly be club music. Sorry but it's true, people want to dance and hear tunes. Sorry but i dont want to hear aesop rock at a club. The radio appeals to the masses. And if you don't like going to clubs thats your fault.
When we see someone succeed, why can't we say good job and just keep it at that? there is a difference from disliking an artist's music, but respecting them.
Then there is just plain ignorance and hating them. Oh i hate him because he raps about the trap. That's his life story (I hope) not yours.
This actually applies to anything in life. Hate is what kills, not Soulja Boy or Kanye or whomever.
